April, the fourth month of the year, for me, stands out amongst other months simply because it hosts the unique marriage between the earth and the rain after a long period of dry courtship and waiting.
The Dark clouds, bustling winds, silvery droppings and loud drumming and shouts beating over our roofs down to the cool and calm the night sleep comes with after the rain, all testify to one thing — Life can always continue so long as the Rain falls.
Today's blog post titled, "April's Rain" was inspired by the first drop of rain that touched our soil and its dedicated to you. Enjoy!
April's Rain By the Inspired Poet
The skies, once bright and blue rolled away,
Like a curtain, it opened up skies anew.
A pregnant dark soup holding silvery linings,
A meal, mother earth so yearned for —April's timing.

The scent of Rain was smelt!
The East wind awoke, like a restless sigh
Raging & rustling through leaves and bushes nearby.
Roots, flower and branches flirt and dance,
Thirsty leaves jolt, as though revived from a trance.

April's Rain was coming!
In no time, a distant rumble is heard,
Flashes of light, splashes of water shared.
Twirling and spreading, like a distant surjourner,
Each drop courses through the perched brown soil
Greasing, Healing its bruises and cracks like oil.
Green leaves and shoots unfurl, drinking to their fill their essence and life.
Flowers raise their faces high, basking in the cleansing sky.
Children rush out barefoot to dance
Their faces glistening in pure delight
Dancing with the winds and rain as though light had come.
Truly April's rain had just come!
Like the saying goes, "April's showers bring May Flowers."/
Did You Know This?

"April Shower Bring May Flowers" is an old statement that has it origin in the English writer and poet, Thomas Tusser.

Back then, he wrote “Sweet April showers do spring May Flowers”.
