Talking a stroll across the hallway of Fidel Bookstores at Terminus, Jos Nigeria, I found this book titled "Zero to one" co-written by Blake Masters and Peter Thiel.

Puzzled, I quizzed the recesses of mind to find the significance of the number one (1) there a poem I read back in 2022 came to life. I tried figuring out who wrote the poem, but I failed woefully, it was credited to an anonymous writer. Let me share it with you./
"Just One!" - Anonymous
One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One simple act of kindness can warm a cold heart
Gradually spreading ripples and waves of compassion from heart to heart.
One deed of love, in our world so vast,
Can echo through time, a legacy, forever and always it may last.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One moon guards our path at night
One step must start each journey.
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true,
One life can make a difference,
One sum lits the earth's landscape
One dream pursued with unflinching might, Lits the torch of hope across streets and souls dark & despaired hearts.
One choice to stand tall, against the tide,
Can inspire others, even a generation to walk with pride.

You see, it's up to you!/
Review: Features of the Poem "Just One"
1. Repetition: You must have observe that the phrase "Just one..." was repeated throughout the poem about 26 times. This was thoughtful of the writer as it created or weaved a rhythmic pattern, hence painting a clear picture and perfect picture of the central message of the poem—that even one small action can have a significant impact
2. Metaphor: Metaphors like "One tree can start a forest" and "One smile begins a friendship" and many others were also incorporated to illustrate the centeal idea of a single action yielding larger consequences.
KEY TAKE AWAY
The very fact that every stanza showed the significance of one (1) made me love it even more. It warmed my heart so much that I had to create the 3 and 7th verse of the poem.

Someone said, "All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of one small candle." See why One is so significant.

In the writings of Edward Everett Hale, she said, "I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do."

Every line in this poem is laced with energy to boost one's self esteem, overcome depression and stirring the desire to make a change wherever you find yourself even if you stand alone amongst a thousand, you're still one.

Be an outlier
Defy the norm.
