Today's piece titled gave me lots to think about. Starting the loss of a distant friend who battled sickle cell anaemia until it recently claimed his life, and to the rain that fell all day and left our cities locked under palpable dark clouds.
As both scenarios played out today, I couldn't just tell if it was the forever I greeted my friend or it was a mere coincidence that our tears mirrored the cold silvery rain drop trickling down the slope of our streets./
In all these we wore a smile brighter than the dark shades that shielded the tears hiding behind our eyes, a smile bloomed beyond the obvious gloom swirling in the embera of our souls.
Enjoy this poetic piece titled "Smile" I hope you also find a reason to smile without needing a sweet our sour season.
SMILE
A smile, they say, illumines a thousand miles,
Flushing out pain like the white stroke on a dark canvas.
A smile, often bought from the wealth of pain,
Like a spring it refreshes and brings warmth to the perched, sore soul.
Like a closely woven wool, each smile keeps the heart warm.
Life's path is laced with hurdles, pain and many troubles are inevitable; they test our strength, our patience, and our will to persevere.
Many a time we stumble, fall, and have our heads in the clouds.
Yet, it's in these moments of struggle and strife a smile may brighten the gloom and dispel the haze./
Each smile is a victory, a small triumph over despair.
It costs a lot to birth one golden drop,
Yet it is this precious currency that warms the heart,
Encouraging us to keep moving forward, to believe in brighter days.
So, smile even when the days are dark like coal.
Smile because it signifies courage and unyielding spirit.
Smile because it connects hearts, spreading warmth in a cold world.
Smile, for in that simple act lies the power to heal,
To inspire, and to remind us that we are warriors,
Facing the world with a brave heart, resilient, persevering, never yielding and strong./
Hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did enjoy writing it and exuding a gracious as each letter formed into words.
